NLFA 2020 Season Update

by NLFA PR

Following the guidelines issued by the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) along with federal, state, and local recommendations, the North Louisiana Football Alliance (NLFA) has prepared a contingency plan for the potential continuation of the 2020 inaugural season.

All NLFA personnel will follow and abide by the directives below in the event the league resumes play. The NLFA will proceed with a shortened regular season, playing the remaining (# of Games TBA) games of the season based on preseason play if gathering restrictions are relaxed to accommodate 50 or more people, 25% of the usual capacity, or after the proposed June 8th date.

Until the “Gathering” Restrictions are loosened or further guidance has been made by health officials referencing gatherings and outdoor sports after June 8th, as a precaution for the safety of the community and NLFA personnel, games will not be open to the public.

Once our season can resume safely and upon completion of the (# of games TBA) modified season, the league will proceed with its playoff games, starting with a wild card match between to two (2) lowest seeds. Then the #2 seed vs #3 seed, while the #1 seed will face off against the wild card winner (#4).

The NLFA will continue to monitor all recommendations and mandates issued by local and state government officials prior to an official season start date can be determined.
